Sigurd to Acquire TSI for NT$1.4 Billion
December 25, 2015
Taiwan-based IC testing company Sigurd announced a plan to acquire its fellow company TSI (Test-Serv Inc.) for a total of NT$1.4 billion (US$42.7 million; US$1=NT$32.8), or NT$17.5 per share, according to Economic Daily News on December 25. Sigurd and TSI have signed a deal in which Sigurd aims to obtain 40% to 100% of TSI's outstanding shares between December 25, 2015 and January 25, 2016. TSI will be delisted from the OTC (Over the Counter) market after the acquisition. Sigurd mainly provides testing services for RF (Radio Frequency) ICs, automotive ICs, consumer ICs, and power management ICs while TSI specializes in power management IC and consumer IC testing. The merger is expected to strengthen Sigurd's deployment in driverless cars, drones, wearables, wireless charging, and IoT (Internet of Things), said the report.
